Becky & Leon married on 17 June at The Matara Centre located nr Tetbury in Gloucestershire – a unique Grade II, Asian inspired wedding venue set in 26 acres.
The couple folded 2,000 origami cranes to hang around the venue. According to Japanese tradition, anyone with the patience and commitment to fold 1,000 paper cranes will be granted their most desired wish, because they have exhibited the cranes’ loyalty and recreated their beauty. Becky & Leon thought that having a wish each was a good way to start married life. Leon is a huge comic book fan, so they made sure that a number of the birds were folded with pages from much loved stories… the couple’s wedding invitations were also inspired by Leon’s love of comic books – designed by artist Adam Thas.
The entertainment was a real hit too, Rebecca says, “In the evening we put on a silent disco that went down a storm. I was a bit concerned that it might create a generational divide – but everyone really embraced it – My Aunty Norma was tearing up the dancefloor! We created rival playlists – I created one, Leon created one and so did Justin (the Best Man). We all have differing opinions on which playlist was the most popular!”
The cake was shop bought, and hand decorated by the couple themselves with fresh fruit and a sprinkling of icing sugar. Rebecca says “It was simple, easy to do and tasted delicious!”
And to feed the guest in the evening, Rebecca & Leon opted to hire a fresh pizza supplier – who doesn’t like pizza after a few drinks and some dancing?! The couple were very impressed with their chosen supplier, Siena Pizza… “They are a family business – lovely people. They were super flexible on the menu, providing options for our vegan, lactose intolerant and gluten free guests.”

Purchasing my dress through Isaac Charles Bridal House was a really enjoyable experience, the team are so warm and professional and everything felt effortless, including the multiple alterations I requested to the dress. I would definitely recommend Isaac Charles Bridal House to anyone looking to purchase their wedding dress.
